A Short History of Sofia’s Linen

While flax linen has been used in garments, beddings and fabrics since the time of the ancient Egyptians and then its use exported to Europe for nobles and royals, Sofia’s Linen brings the luxury that only true flax linen — not cotton — can offer. Established in 2011, we partnered with one of Europe’s oldest and best-known flax linen mills.

While it does not date back to the pyramids, the mill we do business with has a long past. It was founded in 1930 and its 5,000 workers turn out 25,000 flax linen fiber a year. Though the mill is more than 80 years old, it has also kept up with changing demands and standards. To ensure we receive the best possible flax linen for our products, our milling partner meets ISO 9001-2000. (For those who don’t know, ISO 9000-2000 is a quality management standard which ensures the way a company assembles its product and the product a company produces meets a very high bar of quality.)

What does this mean for you? This means that the bedsheets, the bath sheets, the dining napkins and the table cloths you order from us are worthy of the lineage of the fine flax linen that clothed and comforted kings and other people in power. You may not be rich and famous, but that does not mean you can’t feel like one in the bedroom, bathroom or the the dining room. Our customers rave about our products and we are dedicated to keeping them happy with the best service and products in our industry.

In addition to retail orders, Sofia’s Linen is now expanding to wholesale orders. Whether your needs are linens — true flax linens — for your home, hotel or if you’re looking to carry our line of superlative products in your retail establishment, contact us now.

You’ll be glad you did.
